Daily Prayers – personalized from prayers in New Testament

I have been reading the epistles lately and have discovered (again) they are full of powerful prayers. I took six of these prayers and personalized them so that you and I can pray these prayers for ourselves everyday. There is absolutely nothing more powerful than praying Scripture back to the Father!

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Col 4:2

Nuggets of Wisdom

  • The whole dispensation of the Spirit, the whole economy of grace in Christ Jesus, the whole of our spiritual lives, and the whole of the health, growth, and strength of the church has been laid down, provided for, and secured in the New Covenant. - Andrew Murray
  • Build your character. Learn to forgive, to be diligent, to be honest. Learn to stay steady and faithful, to keep commitments, to go by what you know and not necessarily by what you feel. - Wayne Cordeiro
  • To have God speak to the heart is a majestic experience, an experience that people may miss if they monopolize the conversation and never pause to hear God's responses. - Charles Stanley
  • Each time, before you intercede, be quiet first, and worship God in His glory. Think of what He can do, and how He delights to hear the prayers of His redeemed people. Think of your place and privilege in Christ, and expect great things! - Andrew Murray

Deuteronomy 33:12

Consumed by The Fire

Incense is not desired for what it looks like or feels like. It is appreciated for only one thing – its fragrance.  As incense burns it releases a pleasant aroma.  Eventually, the fire will completely consume the incense leaving no trace of its existence except for its beautiful aroma.

As Christ followers we are to be like incense. As we continually draw near to God we will be set on fire with the warmth of His Love. The stench of our fleshly selfishness will be replaced with the aroma of Christ.  The more we are consumed, the more He is released. This is what means for us to decrease and for Him to increase.

Standing on God’s Word

After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' aide: "Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Great Sea on the west. No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. "Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them.

Scriptures in the New Testament related to Healing

Matthew 4:23-24
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.

Matt 8:2-3
2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”  3Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.

Sozo: Save - Heal - Deliver - to make thoroughly whole!

The Greek word sozo is translated save, heal, and deliver. Reading these scriptures will give you insight into what the Bible has to say about sozo. The name Jesus means Saviour (someone that saves).  You will see that Jesus’s name represents the three aspects of sozo. He is our Saviour of our spirits, Healer of our bodies, and Deliverer of our souls (minds, will, emotions). He is God’s total solution for all of our needs!

Matt 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

Matt 8:25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!"

Matt 9:21 She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."
